I've wanted to do the Matthes Crest Traverse for some time now after seeing photos of the exposed airy ridge line several years ago, but after two trips to Tuolumne Meadows it never worked out due to weather or logistics. Eric pestered me to get back out for another attempt and I finally caved. Despite some issues with our lodging arrangements on this trip, we finally did it. Weather was pretty much perfect. We rapped at the standard endpoint from the North tower. We weren't moving fast enough and there was too big of a shitshow traffic jam at the notch for us to even consider doing the last part of the traverse. Maybe next time!
