2016 CB Pow Camp Day 3

Got a snow cat bump to Irwin and then skinned up to the saddle between Mt Ruby and Mt. Owen, boot packed along the ridge to the summit of Mt. Owen and skied a North facing chute from a notch just below the summit. Awesome day!

  • We stopped to watch the AMGA crew ski down. If you enlarge the photo and look closely, you can see them in the couloir to the right of the summit.

  • On our way back to the Cat Barn (Camp Irwin), we hit some flatter terrain and were able to hitch a ride back on a snow cat that just happened to be coming by.
  • Back at the Cat Barn. Very nice inside with comfortable seating, bar and TV.
  • Relaxing with celebratory drinks on the lounge chairs outside before we take the Tucker back down to town.
  • More snow cats and lots of firewood in the Cat Barn.
